Who We Are

Trinity Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (www.elca.org) and the Lower Susquehanna Synod (www.lss-elca.org).

Pastor Barbara Barry – Interim Pastor (pastorbbarry@gmail.com)

Pastor Barbara Barry began serving Trinity Lutheran Mechanicsburg as intentional interim pastor on October 12, 2025 . She served two congregations as a called/settled pastor before the Holy Spirit called her to use her gifts for interim ministry. Her first call was to Quickel Lutheran, York PA where she served 9 years from 2009 – 2018. She then moved to Trinity Greencastle and served 3 years from 2018 – 2022. Her first interim call was to Solomon’s Lutheran in Chambersburg where she served one- and one-half years before being called to Trinity Chambersburg for two years. Pastor Barb was ordained in June 2009 after graduating from Gettysburg Seminary in 2008.  She is passionate about proclaiming God’s love as found in the gospels; we are freed to love and serve others because God first loved us. Pastor Barb lives in the Greencastle Borough with her cat, Gus.  She has two married daughters Stephanie and Kristen.  She currently has 3 loves of her life, Emmett, her grandson, and Gwen and Serenity, her granddaughters, who fill her life with joy and laughter.  When not involved with church or community, Pastor Barb can be found socializing with friends, reading, puttering in her garden, or hiking and camping in the woods.

Melissa Jacoby – Minister of Music

Melissa was hired as Minister of Music in February 2022. She has a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Gettysburg College and taught at Fairfield Area Middle and High Schools for 20 years. She continues to teach private instrumental music lessons at home. In addition to music, Melissa is a volunteer at local farmer’s markets.

Debbie Schue – Parish Administrator

Debbie grew up in Mechanicsburg, moved to Etters in 1986, and then Lewisberry in 1992, where she still lives with her husband, Terry. They have been married since 1985 and have two grown daughters, four grandsons, and a granddaughter. Debbie has many years of experience working with religious organizations. She enjoys being outdoors, biking, walking, hiking, swimming, gardening, reading a good book, and being with family and friends.
